Colins Space Story

Colin has worked hard this week to produce a story about space.

Colin wrote a story each day.  He then took a photo of each of these and recorded his story on the iPad as his publishing on Friday with Bev.  He loved making his avatar and Bev helped him move it as he read his story.  This made him giggle lots and lots as he got to see himself moving around the screen as his story was read back to him in his own voice.  Great work Colin.

Talk to learn - Shopping week

This week in Talk to learn Ngarino and Teziah have been learning communication skills around the topic of shopping.  As a treat they got to put these skills into practice by walking down to our local Dairy and buying an Ice Cream.  They had to use sign language, and their core board to communicate with each other, their Teacher Aids, Me AND the shopkeepers.  Here is a video we have create together to help them relive and build on their learning in the future.  A great REWINDABLE learning example for these children.

Ngarino and Teziah learning to share.

Here are a few photos of Ngarino and Teziah learning to share and enjoying learning alongside each other without Teacher Aide and Teacher support.  Well done guys, these are great skills to learn.

Ngarino practices her spelling.

Here is Ngarino practicing her spelling words.  She is learning to recognize high frequency words like 'I' and 'am' and also her name.  She is very excited to be learning her name and as you can see from these photos she is doing really well. She is now trying to do this task with less Teacher Aide support.  Well done Ngarino.  Great learning!
