Reading for Report Writing

This week we have been learning how to write reports.  Mrs Gardiner was back in class today so the Centipede and Snails reading groups were introduced to their independent reading projects for this week and next.

Here are a few examples of their work.  Well done!

Favourite books this week.

At Ohaeawai School we doing the 'Hells Pizza Challenge' for reading.  Each week Room 5 & 6 will talk to Mrs C and tell her about their favourite library story for the week.  Here is a little snip of what the children said this week.

Well done Heidi, Joe, and Taylor for taking the interest in learning how to use iMovie.  I can't wait until I see the ones you make by yourself!!!

Sequencing publishing - Taylor

This publishing uses time sequencing words to sequence my story.  In my story I used first, then and finally.

Bush Walk Cameo - Taylor

This week we were planning to do a cameo based around walking up Te Ahu Ahu but it was to wet to go so we created some Cameos based round us going for a walk in the bush area just beside our classroom.  Mrs Gardiner gave us an example that encouraged us to think about what we could see, hear, smell, touch (and taste).  Here is my published story.

Our writing goal today were to make sure we had spaces between words and missing lines.

Learning to use Explain Everything

This week we have been learning and practicing how to use 'Explain Everything'.  This is an app on the iPads, that we use to record our learning so we can share it with others.  We also had a collection of children work with Mrs G to create some videos that allow us to REWIND our learning and revisit how to access and save our tasks.

Thank Cruz & Taylor for modeling and recording this.

Thank Mollie and Taylor for sharing this.
